The Centre for Multimedia Signal Processing was initially and informally set up in the department of Electronic and Information Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1998. The centre is led by Professor Wan-Chi Siu. The objectives of the centre are, first, to conduct edge-cutting researches in the areas of Digital Signal Processing for Multimedia applications, which have academic achievements at a quality comparable to similar research centres in North America or Europe; and second, to make use of our research results for the promotion of industrial innovation and for the development of new products, especially products that are suitable for the production from the local industry. |
